Gettysburg, PA. Mission of Mercy, a nonprofit organization provides free medical, dental care and medications to the un- and underinsured, will hold a special ribbon cutting to celebrate its new mobile medical clinic on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 4pm to 6pm. The event will take place atGettysburg Foursquare Church, our clinic host site since 2007, located at 328 W. Middle Street in Gettysburg. Mission of Mercy has served the Adams County community since 1994.
The new clinic will enable Mission of Mercy to continue to serve the healthcare needs of the AdamsCounty community. Since 1994 Mission of Mercy has provided free healthcare and medications to over 4,100 medical and dental patients who have visited our Gettysburg clinics more than 22,000times. Mission of Mercy is a volunteer driven organization with over 20 volunteers in the community who serve as physicians, dentists, nurses, interpreters and registration volunteers. In2022 Mission of Mercy received the GOLD Standard Award from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics. This award is given to organizations that are dedicated to ensuring that patients receive quality healthcare.
“Over seventy percent of our patients suffer with one or more life threatening chronic health issues,” said Dr. Michael Sullivan, MD, Mission of Mercy’s medical director. “They come to us because they are in pain and desperate and they simply can’t afford to see a doctor.” The public is invited to celebrate with us on Monday, October 30. The formal Ribbon Cutting is at 4:30pm followed by tours, refreshments and a collage of historical photos of Mission of Mercy’s 30 years of serving the community.
